Terry Patten plays the dobro, sings lead and harmony vocals and writes some of the band’s original material. Living in Oak Hill, Virginia, Terry has been influenced by the vibrant bluegrass scene of nearby Washington, D.C., as well as the traditions of the Blue Ridge. While the dobro is often used for soft, melodic fills, Terry has created a unique dobro style that goes a long way in making the sound of the Naked Mountain Boys.
Charlie Perryman plays fiddle, mondolin, guitar and banjo as well as singing lead and harmony vocals. He was born in Culpepper, Virginia, where he learned to play and love music from his mother and father. Charlie is a very versatile musican and can fill in pretty much anywhere he is needed. He lives in Mannassas, Virginia.
Robert Mabe plays banjo and guitar and is originally from Stokes County, North Carolina where he grew up surrounded by bluegrass music. He has played with Larry Keel, Rex McGee, and David Via.
John Burns plays bass and writes some of the band’s original material. He lives in the Shenandoah Valley and has loved bluegrass music for most of his life. He also acts as the band’s booking agent.
Steve lives in Frogtown, Virginia, with his wife and two dogs. He learned everthing he knows from the Andy Griffith Show. He has an old time way of picking a guitar and singing and and an old time way of looking at and enjoying the country way of life.
